Moving over from Android or iOS to windows phone can be quite a daunting task.
Many new adopters of the Windows Phone platform become disjointed due to the disparity in app titles available on their previous devices.
This list below is in no chronological order, just a listing of apps this writer has found useful.
1. Authenticator.
This app can be a lifesaver when outlook starts acting up. I just seem to have several issues with outlook always demanding I verify my account due to security issues, this is where this app comes in. It simply generates a passcode for you, saving you the need to go though the hassles of verification through your alternate mail.
2. UCBrowser
Forget what browser you were used to on your previous platform, this is the best browser on Windows phone, errm, let's just say the most functional.
If you are going to be using your WP for anything aside brief surfing of webpages, this is one browser you need.
It features a very decent download manager, ability to save downloads on sdcard, a QR scanner, a 'speed mode' that
Compresses Data (for those who don't have excess data). You can even set the font type and text size you need in speed mode.
3.Adobe Reader
This is the best PDF reader on WP!
4. Tucan Reader
If you are a fan of reading digital books, this is the most impressive app on the store. The control offered to the user towards tweaking the interface is mind boggling.
I even tried a few top Android apps out, they just didn't match this.
The funny thing is its free!
5. Moliplayer pro
Any list missing this app is invalid.
This video player plays almost any video format without breaking a sweat.
Not a single app comes close to this on WP.
A key reason many still wield Windows Phones.
6. Pocket File Manager.
Excellent file manager. Even comes with a local zip manager.
7. Sys App Pusher.
This app makes it easier for you to updates to system apps.
8. Accuweather
This is quite a tough call as there are many capable weather applications on windows phone.
9. Dictionary
If you that person always in the hunt for strange vocabulary, this is the Dictionary for you.
It features a simplistic interface, but has so much larger repository of words that many dictionaries can't just keep up to it.
10. MetroTube.
An interesting YouTube third party app.
A plethora of this is available, but this is a stand out.
Not free though.
